Breast cancer Run begins mom's Day on the right Foot - TWC news

ROCHESTER, N.Y. -- there are many mom's Day traditions. In Rochester, one of them is recognizing local families suffering from breast cancer.

The annual pink Ribbon Run and walk was held in Genesee Valley Park Sunday.

"here's the fifteenth 12 months for this experience, and the fifteenth 12 months that it be been held on mother's Day," noted Debra Bonsignore of the Breast melanoma Coalition. "And or not it's sort of girls' option. lots of these ladies decide to start their day like this, and their households decide to honor their moms and sisters and grandmothers and pals through starting the day with this experience." 

Breast melanoma survivor Terry Kelly made it a daily part of her life.

"I've performed this walk for 13 years," Kelly stated. "and that i'm grateful for the entire research that's been executed, and all of the superb people I've met along the style. It's an excellent day."

Organizers say all proceeds go to The Breast melanoma Coalition's Rochester-based mostly programs. these consist of guide businesses, workshops, analysis initiatives, and curative courses like gentle yoga.  The functions are offered to participants free of charge.
