Paws to the pavement: hounds race to elevate focus for breast cancer - WTHITV.com

TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTHI) – in your mark, get set, cue the cuteness!

Saturday was the red Weenie 100. It's a Dachshund race where group individuals can prefer the hound they believe will win and get a prize.

Proceeds from the adventure go to Terre Haute purple, a company for these with breast melanoma.

Organizers say this race holds a special area in their coronary heart.

"Unethical the way it takes the lives of women the entire time and we simply need those materials right here in our neighborhood to support our breast cancer sufferers," talked about Cheryl Kaperak, Founder and President, "pink is a great group you recognize? 100% of what they get stays here within the Wabash Valley, and that's kudos to a lot of women who need wigs or blankets and treatments and stuff."

In complete, 17 Dachshunds had been brought in to take part in today's race.
