WAUSAU - more than 1,100 people came collectively in downtown Wausau Sunday to take strides against breast melanoma and to remember folks that died from the ailment.

Attendees and sponsors of the Komen principal Wisconsin Race for the treatment raised upwards of $125,000 during the event — funds that may be spent locally on girls's health and breast melanoma features, as well as on national research, in response to Sandy Draeger, who helped organize the gathering.

The seventh annual fundraiser covered a 5K run and walk and a one-mile walk. The 5K began on Fourth highway in front of The Grand theater, simply across from The four hundred Block park, the place members converged.
