younger Gymnasts Compete To lift funds For fight towards Breast melanoma - CBS local

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) — The 9th annual pink Invitational closed out Sunday elevating tons of of hundreds of greenbacks for a great cause.

wearing purple leotards, capes and boas, more than 3,000 younger gymnasts tumbled, flipped and climbed the steadiness beam at the Pennsylvania convention center. They have been tremendous heroes competing to raise funds in the fight in opposition t breast melanoma.

Hazel Miller and Lauren Laurenz competed with Kendrick Kippettes gymnastics in Roxborough. They raised 13,000 for the trigger doing cartwheels.

"We get sponsors to get donated per cartwheel that we do and i did like 70," Miller spoke of.

"I did 51," Laurenz pointed out. "I acquired dizzy really brief."

Breast melanoma survivor Sue Weldon situated the red Invitational which raises money for her nonprofit Unite For Her, a firm that offers free wellbeing features to ladies after breast cancer cures.

"That money will enable us to serve about 500 women for that full year," Weldon observed. "Giving them acupuncture, yoga and foodstuff consults."

On Saturday, the gymnasts got a unique deal with — a consult with from U.S. Olympic gymnast Laurie Hernandez.

This 12 months's adventure raised an estimated half-million greenbacks for Unite For Her.
